Hello South Calgary Families!
Welcome to the 2020/21 Season! While we were expecting a sizeable decline in registration numbers this season, we are happy to report we did not! With over 95% of our registration total from last year, we are thrilled to see so many people excited for the Return to Ringette!
Please watch for a welcome email from your coach that should come out today or tomorrow. I am sure everyone is excited to hit the ice with their new teams. Your first practice time may be as early as tomorrow or possibly next week.
Further information about the league regular season will be shared as it becomes available to us. In the meantime please become familiar with the Return to Ringette page on the Ringette Alberta website: https://ringettealberta.com/ return-to-ringette/
We will need to follow many new procedures as outlined by AHS, our governing bodies and the arenas we use. The health and safety of our players, coaches and volunteers is the responsibility of everyone in our association. The new rules and regulations create additional work for our volunteers and staff so please be patient and understanding. There is mandatory safety information that will be collected by one of your team staff before any player/coach goes on ice:
1.”Assumption of Risk” waiver for your minor aged player(s): https://ringettealberta.com/ wp-content/uploads/2020/03/ COVID19-Assumption-of-Risk- Minor.pdf
2.”Waiver” for all participants who are 18 years or older (coaches, team staff, officials, volunteers, adult players): https://ringettealberta.com/ wp-content/uploads/2020/03/ COVID19-Waiver-Adult.pdf
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our many volunteers for ensuring this season is possible. Looking forward to seeing you all around the rink!

RAMP online waivers:
-The Ringette Alberta online waivers have been sent out to our registered players. Please check your inbox (or junk mail) and ensure you sign this online waiver. These are required by Ringette Alberta in order to participate in the season. (It is also a good idea for your Team Safety Officer to also collect the paper waivers mentioned above, so please bring those to your first ice time.)
-Another online waiver will also be sent out for Coaches / Team Staff. Please watch for that waiver and sign as soon as possible. (If you don’t have a RAMP account from involvement in another sport organization, you may need to set one up.)
RAMP Team App:
-The RAMP Team App is now available. Our SCRA Safety Officers have set up our association in the app with each team’s main contact person (ie. your Team Safety Officer if you have one, or your head coach).
-Your team contact will receive the account login info to get your team set up on the app and send you an invite to join — similar to how teams have previously used Team Snap.
-Please begin using the app to track your attendance and complete the health screening checks IMMEDIATELY
For teams hitting the ice this weekend, there is information about the various facility restrictions on the Ringette Calgary website:https://ringettecalgary.ca/ covid/facility-protocols/. As a quick reference for this weekend, our ice purchaser has advised that Crowchild Arena is allowing a total of 28 people on the ice (so 14 per team) and FCA is allowing a total of 32 on the ice (or 16 per team). Depending on your attendance at practice this weekend, you may need to adjust your on-ice staff numbers.
Our SCRA Safety Officers are working hard to get us set up. Please see the info on the Manager page of our website for their contact info if you have any questions going forward.https://southcalgaryringette. com/managers/
Thank you for your quick attention to these safety protocols.
