Come Try Ringette / Bring a Friend - Practice

Oct. 10, 2024

South Calgary Ringette Association loves to introduce the sport of ringette to new athletes. We are excited to offer a Come Try Ringette/Bring a Friend for Active Start players (born 2018 and 2019).

Ringette is loved by many for its focus on players being included on a team as a primary measure of success. Technical skating and game play skills are developed gradually through fun practices, dedicated volunteer coaches, and adequate ice time.

Our event is hosted by JR Coach volunteers who are great at making younger skaters confident on the ice. No skating experience necessary. Our event will run a round-robin stations, focusing on simple drills, passing and shooting. We will end the session with a famous ringette cheer!

Who should come:
• This event is open to athletes ages 4-5 who want to have fun on ice!
• Individuals and their friend(s) who are curious about ringette.
• No experience in ringette or skating is necessary - the perfect age to start ringette is the age you are right now!

What should your athlete bring/wear:

  • Helmet (skating or skiing helmets only, no bike helmets) (hockey or ringette cage recommended, but not required)
  • Skates
  • Gloves (Hockey/Ringette/Lacrosse gloves recommended, winter mittens or gloves acceptable
